Get Politics Taught in Schools
Let's get politics taught in schools. A basic understanding of the fundamental aspects of politics and democracy is crucial in order for young people to feel involved in their society. Political education will inspire young people to engage openly in political processes in the UK.
At 18, we are given the opportunity to be formally involved in decisions that shape the society we live in.
'Young people’ are often labelled as being ‘apathetic’ and ‘lazy’ towards democracy, largely due to low voter turnout. But this is not the case at all; they simply lack easy access to political resources.
Understanding the basic elements of democracy is crucial for young people to feel involved in society, and to engage openly in the political process. This can be achieved in schools.
