Petition Action

Stop the triggering of Article 50 in the interests of UK integrity and safety

Petition Details

Triggering Article 50 to leave the EU on the basis of an advisory referendum called for party political purposes, and undemocratically conducted, is profoundly against the values and interests of the UK, and an immediate threat to the UK's political integrity and the safety of its citizens.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The Prime Minister has already written to European Council President Donald Tusk to notify him of the UK’s intention to leave the EU, so it is not possible for the Government to take this action.
