Make Nursery fees affordable for the working parent
To put a baby through to school is extortionate. I have calculated that, in order for us to send our child to nursery full time it would cost in excess of £750 per month!! There is not enough help for parents. It should be fully funded like school is.
The average weekly cost for an under 2 is £222.36 which on an annual basis is £11,562.72. Which is equivalent to the average mortgage (£11,580 per annum. Source More Than)
By the time they are old enough to have the 570 hours a year parents would spend c.£23125 on child care alone. Something needs to be done, quickly to help keep parents in work, thus, creating a healthy, productive population.
