Pressurise the Chinese government to stop repatriation of North Korean refugees.
100-300k people have tried to flee North Korea since 1953. Up to 30k N.K. children live in China with no access to basic human rights. Chinese authorities repatriate N.K. refugees who then face torture and imprisonment. We implore our govt to intervene and stop China's repatriation of N.K. refugees.
Poverty, corruption and repression makes it impossible for defectors to go through normal immigration procedures. Unable to find transport to S.Korea, most escape to China in search for an end to the suffering they endured in N.K.
International law states that China has an obligation to protect refugees but, despite this, a Chinese crackdown has refused to grant desperate families schooling, health care or citizenship.
