Petition Action

Add SEPSIS to the Syllabus guidance set out by HSE for ALL first aid courses.

Petition Details

An NHS England report suggests in 2014, more than 123,000 people suffered from SEPSIS, and it estimates around 37,000 people die from it in England each year.
Sepsis is widely missed, and relatively unheard of leading to several catastrophic mistreatments or delays.

Additional Information

We seek to add SEPSIS to the First Aid Syllabus guidance for ALL courses, which is set out by the HSE. The overarching aim is to make the early signs and symptoms more common knowledge, leading to more efficient and timely treatment of this serious condition.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The Health and Safety Executive, not the UK Parliament or Government are responsible for HSE first aid syllabuses.
