Spend the £490 million to design a new UK passport after Brexit on the NHS.
News reports suggest that it will cost £490 million to produce a new UK passport for use after 2019, when the UK leaves the EU.
With the NHS and social care needed more resources, it would be much better to spend the £490 million on these essential public services.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The UK passport is routinely redesigned every five years to guard against counterfeiting. The Government is launching the procurement process now to ensure there is sufficient time to produce and design UK passports from 2019 when the current contract ends. The contract covers design, print, assembly and personalisation of passports.
We're not sure whether you would like the UK passport not to be redesigned at all, including to protect against counterfeiting. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
