Purveyors of halal meat e.g. restaurants/supermarkets must inform the public.
Part of a letter to me from my local MP:
"Although the government would prefer all animals to be stunned before slaughter, we recognise the requirements of Jewish and Muslim communities ......... Indeed, the 2015 Conservative Party Manifesto included a specific pledge to protect halal slaughter."
It is obvious that the UK for the foreseeable future will not be doing the same as Denmark has done by banning halal slaughter. The Danish government has said the welfare of animals should be put before religion, which is as it should be.
