Ensure that sentencing fits the crime regardless of perpetrators background.
Mustafa Bashir (07/04/2016) has today been jailed for 18 months for domestic violence when just a week ago he was spared jail on the ground that his potential career with Leicestershire County Cricket Club would be prevented by a custodial sentence.
Mustafa Bashir actions and offences should have been what determined the sentence passed. His stunted career progression should not have been a deciding factor between a prison sentence and walking free.
