Decommissioned Schools should be reused for community use
Schools that have been decommissioned are being sold to building firms and not reintroduced to their community to help support children, young people and the elderly. Some areas within communities have the lack of space to provide services that will benefit it's people
It's down to the Secretary of State for education to ask local charities and other service providers the opportunity to take over the function of a decommissioned school and then as a last resort sell to the highest bidder. Schools that have served communities can continue to do so but in other ways, Kirkley ward in Lowestoft Suffolk has exactly this, a school that has been vacant for years, but hasn't been decommissioned by the Secretary of State, but can continue to support the community
