Stop Trump from demanding the gold carriage for his state visit in October
Donald Trump ‘insists on gold-plated carriage procession for UK state visit in October’
He wants a horse and carriage upon arrival – and not just any old one.
The POTUS is expecting to get the traditional state welcome of a carriage procession down the Mall alongside Her Majesty.
According to The Times, the White House made it clear that President Trump wants the procession, even though his predecessor Barack Obama opted for a less glamorous mode of travel back in 2011 – an armoured motorcade.
Security officials have apparently already warned him that it would be difficult to make the area and the carriage itself secure.
The security operation being planned for this October is already believed to be the most complex state visit ever carried out.
