Petition Action

Stop Government to hold another General Election and let them finish the Brexit

Petition Details

Last year British people had a referendum and they decided to Leave the EU. Prime Minister at the time stepped off and to Ms Theresa May took the responsibility to complete the process of Brexit or Leaving the EU.
Prime Minister Theresa May started the process and Triggered Article 50.

Additional Information

Now rather then finishing the job she brought idea from out of the blue to hold General Election and trying to shift this responsibility to someone else, who may have different ideas.

So our request is to scrap the idea to hold an early elections and elect new Government and Prime Minister and their cabinets to complete the process, let the current Government and PM finish their job.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Her Majesty the Queen has made a proclamation setting Thursday 8 June as the date of the election. Once a proclamation like this has been made, the date of the election can’t be changed.
