Call on the Prime Minister to join other party leaders in a TV Debate

Petition Details

The Prime Minister, Theresa May, has called a snap general election to be held on 8th June 2017. However, the Prime Minister has ruled out taking part in a TV Debate. This means that the public will loose out on a chance to scrutinise leaders of the main political parties and their policies.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This would be a decision for Theresa May to make as leader of the Conservative party, not as the Prime Minister. We can only accept petitions about the Prime Minister’s actions as part of the Government, not as the leader of a political party.
