Petition Action

Demand an open vote on Thurday 27th EU referendum

Additional Information

With only a week before the back-bench business committee will allow a vote to debate Britain's future role with the EU, we are now informed that Mr Cameron is going to deny your own MP's the right of a free vote.
Instead, he intends to impose his single view that the people of Britain are not entitled to have their voice heard and impose a 3 party whip to gag democracy.
You have just 7 days to remind him and all MP's that democracy is our right.
If Next Thursday's vote if gagged through the party whip, then democracy in this country can be formally declared dead.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Whipping is a matter for political parties and not HM Government.
