Equal rights for contribution and income based ESA

Petition Details

Since 1990 when I had a work accident and had to retire from my job in the health service I have been on invalidity, incapacity benefit till it changed to ESA ppl on Contribution Support Do Not get the same priorities as those on Income based for ex:Legal Aid etc it should be the same for both.

Additional Information

I would like to see fairness /equal rights for both Contributon and Income based ESA which is not happening has one example Contribution cannot claim Legal Aid.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

In particular, we're not sure how you would like the Government or Parliament to make the system fair and equal.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a new petition asking the Government to merge contribution and income-based ESA and only have one type of employment and support allowance, if that's what you'd like to happen.
