Additional Information

All alimony payments should be subject to full tax relief at the point of the donor and taxed at the point of receipt by the recipient.

When a couple separate, they have the freedom to enjoy separate existences and therefore only fairness would dictate that they should be taxed as separate individuals. It is not fair to treat them the same way a a married couple for the simple reason that they are not.
