Take action to stop the distortion of body image by the media
The media has been heavily linked to distorted views of 'the perfect body'. Photoshopped Images of models and celebrities incorrectly shape perception and can lead to eating disorders, drug and alcohol use and bullying. Publication of body images should not misrepresent the true form of the model.
We the undersigned believe it is time the media declare, by way of a visual disclaimer on every publication, when graphic alterations have been made to a body image using computer software - this includes the enhancement of size and removal of such things as cellulite and stretch marks. The disclaimer should make it clear that the body or bodies used have been enhanced and are not true to the original image. The original untouched image should be available upon request or made available online.
