Condemn the brutality of the Spanish authorities during the Catalan referendum
On 1 October Spanish police attacked and injured over 800 peaceful unarmed Catalan citizens engaged in an independence referendum. They beat them with truncheons and fired rubber bullets.
This brutal attack on democracy was an affront to civilised values and should be condemned unconditionally.
