Debate, and answer, points raised in A C Grayling's letter to MPs: 'I Accuse.'

Petition Details

Millions of UK citizens face the stripping of the right to travel, work and live in the EU, against their expressed wishes. The referendum, which was advisory, is being treated as mandatory. There has been no proper debate about the result of the referendum within the context of it being advisory.

Additional Information

Professor AC Grayling is Master of the New College of the Humanities. As such, he is one of the leading thinkers in our country. His views are well written and clearly expressed. He has written this letter to MPs, and the New European paper has mailed copies to all MPs. As A C Grayling himself says in his letter:

"I am a citizen, a voter, a taxpayer, and I demand a reply. As public servants you have an obligation to respond to me."

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

It would be up to individual MPs to decide whether to reply to any letter they receive, not a decision for the Government and the House of Commons as a whole.
