Thameslink Protest

Additional Information

The petition of citizens of the United Kingdom declares that they are concerned about the future
of the British train building industry. Their concern is a consequence of the decision to appoint
Siemens as the preferred bidder for the new fleet of trains for the Thameslink Programme.
The petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons urges the Secretary of State for
Transport to reverse / review this decision.
This decision was made with no consideration given to the social & economic impact on the UK in awarding this contract overseas and must be assesed against this critera.
