Privacy of electoral role details.
The government should not sell details you provide on the electoral register to businesses or on line address searches .
At present when you fill in your voting details they are automatically sold to firms for marketing purposes and your name plus address are then available on the internet, unless you opt out by ticking a box.
As it stands now, having to opt out is against your rights of privacy, as if you forget, you find that your details such as name and address are freely searchable on the web. This is not acceptable and needs amending in view of the availability of information via the internet.
The government should not be profiting out of voters, and your name and address should be not available to publish on line, unless you opt in to their scheme.
The government should vote to change the terms of this list from opt out to opt in, or vote not to sell the information at all for the good of all voters.
