Abolishing the power of the Whip
We the undersigned humbly petition Her Majesty's Government to enact legislation to abolish the power of the party Whips.
We believe that all votes in the Mother of Parliaments should be free votes, with each member arriving at their decision after consultation with their constituents, and that attempts to sway, coerce or cajole an MP to vote against their constituents wishes should be a criminal offence.
