Enforce DEFRA rule on religious slaughter to prevent its overuse by abbatoirs
DEFRA excemption on religious slaughter states it should only be used where it is needed to fulfil the needs of the religious group. The amount of religiously slaughtered animals in the UK far exceeds the needs of the muslim/jewish faith groups, showing an institutional failure to enforce the rules.
