Inquiry on collapse of Monarch & the safeguarding of pensions
There have been calls for a public inquiry to the collapse of Monarch airlines and maybe look into changing the law on pensions so when a company goes into administration money can be put aside for the pension fund.
The Chair of Parliament’s Work and Pensions Committee expressed concern over claims that private equity group Greybull Capital could avoid losing money while the carrier’s pension fund – which is owed £7.5m – could be among creditors left with nothing.
