Prevent the purchase of fireworks aimlessly & a fine for buying them illegally

Petition Details

I live near a park and all I see is people carrying fireworks and letting them off. This includes stuffing them into bins and chucking them at each other for a bit of fun. Which is dangerous for someone walking by. I would like to see them sold only to licensed organised events.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

You could start a new petition asking for the UK Government and Parliament to change the law so that only people with a special license are able to purchase fireworks, if that's what you want to happen.

You'll need to give your full name to start a petition.

If you want the UK Government or Parliament to ban public use of fireworks, you could sign this petition: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/201947
