Protect cats, in the same way as dogs, under the Road Traffic Act.
Cats, unlike dogs, are not protected under the Road Traffic Act. This means that when they are hit by cars, fatally or not, the driver does not have to stop or report it. This needs to change so that families know what happened and potentially life saving treatment can be received.
