Petition Action

New policy regarding passport names for dual nationals to be Reviewed.

Petition Details

Dual nationals who changed their name via UK deed poll and have being using their new name for "all purposes", didnt realise the HMPO policy has changed less than 2 years ago leaving them in a stressfull situation when it comes to renew the UK passport.

Additional Information

Still, nowadays, Deep Poll service agencies don't inform new applicants about the changes and HMPO employees still confused about the new policy. The naturalisation service should also inform new residenship applicants.

That should be an exemption prior to the policy and enough information sent out to the public before it comes into place.

Now, People using their new names will be put to considerable stress and shame to change back to their birth name due to this policy.
