Legislate to Make Anti-Social Behaviour a crime with suitable punishment.

Petition Details

Parents should teach their children, right from wrong, respect for others. Break the rules and children should be sent to special centers to be taught basic values. We MUST increase police numbers on the streets. Give Local Authorities powers to take immediate action, the system now, is to slow.

Additional Information

Elderly and vulnerable people suffer years of Anti-Social Behaviour. Afraid to leave their homes, for fear of assault or abuse by young people. Their health suffers, they become prisoners in their own homes. Their property can be attacked and damaged. Police can try to give them support, but because of stretched resources, they can only do so much. Businesses suffer, loss of trade, damage to their property, theft, loss of staff because of abuse and assault. The problem is getting out of control.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

Some of the actions you mention in your petition are already criminal offences, so we're not sure exactly how you'd like the law to be changed.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
