Ban firework displays without a permit. Permit only be granted over a weekend
We all like to celebrate bonfire night and there's no reason to stop this. However, there is a reason to add a level of control to fireworks displays.
Permits should be sought to have a display at home, and permits should only be granted over 1 weekend and published so people in the area are aware
Every year people & animals are terorised by fireworks.
Not only that but A&E units which are already overrun have a surge in firework related injuries.
Setting permits for firework displays not only allows local residents to get advanced warning & take measures but can also help reduce injuries when careless people having displays who are under the influence or just plain reckless to be denied permits in the future.
Firework sales can still proceed but permits must be displayed prior to sale
