Encourage Learning of Modern European Languages
In recent years there has been a decline in the take up of modern languages, and subjects such as French, German, Italian, Spanish, are not taught in schools to the extent that they one were. If this is due to the rise of English as a world language then it may be rather complacent. Students are missing out on the discipline of learning a foreign language, and cannot therefore fully appreciate the cultures of our near neighbours.
