The government must carry out a public inquiry into offshore tax havens.
The UK wealth gap is widening and child poverty is increasing. Yet the UK has seen a boom in the number of high-net-worth individuals.
To show commitment for creating a fairer society, the government must start by investigating the use of offshore tax havens.
CEO pay is 129 times that of the average worker. In 2000 CEOs earned 47 times that of the average worker. In the 1970s the ratio was much lower. Meanwhile, UK food bank use continues to rise, schools are underfunded and understaffed, hospitals cannot cope with the number of patients they are receiving and transport services are overpriced.
