Patients who decline conventional NHS cancer treatments should still be entitled to regular check ups
My family has experienced cancer.
One member received chemotherapy and suffered terribly.
Another member decided to use alternative medicine paid for out of their own money.
Despite saving the NHS money, they have been denied the right to regular scans to establish if the cancer has returned.
If a cancer patient opts not to avail of chemotherapy or radiotherapy, they should still be entitled to the same regular check ups and scans that everyone else is entitled to.
By choosing not to take treatment they have saved the NHS money.
