Petition Action

The UK government must intervene to save of Eritrea.

Petition Details

Isaias Afwerki, has ruled Eritrea since 1991. A constitution drafted in 1997 has yet to be implemented, no national elections held & no independent media.

Thousands flee the country to avoid indefinite national service, arbitrary arrest, enforced disappearances & degrading treatment in detention.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you're concerned about the situation in Eritrea, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the UK Government to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
