Free vote on all motions arising from e-petitions
The government made much of the fact that e-petitions gaining at least 100 000 names could be considered for debate on the floor of the Louse of Commons.
This is was achieved this week with the EU referendum debate however the debate was then rendered farcicial by the imposition of a 3-line whip by the Conservative Party.
In future all debates arising from e-petitions should be the subject of free votes and MPs should not be whipped to vote in a particular way.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Whipping is a metter for political parties and not HM Governemnt
