Ban filibustering in the House of Commons
Many useful bills put forward by individual MPs and supporeted by the public are talked out deliberately - or filibustered. A recent example of this is the bill that called for 16 year olds to be allowed the vote. Ban this cynical and deliberate way of blocking useful debate and legislation
On November 3 the Representation of the People (Young People’s Enfranchisement and Education) Bill was not moved to a vote in spite of there being enough MPs to force a vote due to the tactic of filibustering.
