People not classed as adults (under 18s) shouldn't have to pay adult prices
Under 18s have to pay adult prices for many services such as bus fairs, train tickets, leisure activities etc. One bus ticket can often be an hours worth of work, this transport is necessary for travelling to college, work and apprenticeships so prices need to be lowered.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Aged-based transport fares are not set by the UK Government. For buses, local bus companies are free to set their own fares. For trains, the fares are set by train operating companies.
The Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the cost of most leisure activities.
You could start a new petition asking Parliament to change the law, to require all operators to offer child fares or child tickets for anyone under 18.
