HM Government should declare the result of the 2016 referendum null and void.

Petition Details

Evidence has come to light that there was systematic interference by foreign agencies using covert social media campaigns to influence the vote with the objective of influencing voters toward the Leave campaign. This is an abuse of the democratic process and should be acknowledged thus.

Additional Information

UK academics have established that at least 419 Twitter accounts operating from the Kremlin-linked Russian Internet Research Agency (IRA) tweeted about Brexit and that thousands of other Russia-based Twitter accounts posted more than 45,000 messages about Brexit in just 48 hours during the 2016 referendum The Electoral Commission has no power to sanction non-UK based individuals or organisations for activity that takes place outside the UK but this should not mean the UK must accept the result.
