Keep EU bill amendment to regard animals as sentient beings post-Brexit
On November 15th MP's voted against keeping the EU bill amendment NC30. This will only weaken regulation on the farming industry, and cause a widespread of intensive factory farming. The Animal Welfare Act is simply not enough, we must keep this bill to ensure our animals are looked after properly.
To get rid of this bill would not just be an insult to vegetarians, vegans and those who exclude meat because of their religion, but also to UK shoppers who want to know that the animal products they are buying have been ethically sourced to the highest standards.
