Make it law that airlines allow special assistance car seats on planes

Petition Details

Currently cabin crew have the discretionary power to reject a car seat, and therefore a disabled child their holiday or important trip. Children over the age of 2 may still need a car seat. Intellectual or physical disability can make a standard lap belt unsafe for travel. Make travel inclusive.

Additional Information

On a recent trip with my 5 year old son we were allowed to take our car seat right up to the plane steps. We were then told the seat and therefore my son were not allowed on the plane by the luggage loaders. When questioned it was explained and confirmed that it was at the discretion of the cabin crew.

Having booked time off, travelled to the airport, had special assistance how is it not law that disabled children be allowed on board with whichever equipment they need to make travel accessible
