Some companies’ lending practices are targeting the "poorest, most desperate families" and operating in the "most deprived areas" of the UK. The customers end up paying more than twice what they would have paid without finance charges. This is making people already in debt further in debt.

There is evidence that they are targeting the UK's most vulnerable (poorest and most desperate families), and operating in the most deprived areas. Customers end up paying more than twice what they would have paid without finance charges. Some base prices have also been noted to be higher than those of upscale mainstream retailers such as Harrods. This is totally unacceptable, with the interest rates in need of review.
