Investigate EA and Loot Boxes in Video Games for Gambling properties.

Petition Details

EA released Star Wars: Battlefront II on 17/11/17. It was immediately apparent that the game was Pay-To-Win. In order to progress in the game you need to PAY for the Lootboxes or play for a unhealthy amount of time. These Lootboxes however contain random items in which can be considered as gambling.

Additional Information

These Lootboxes are attached to one of the most popular IP's in the world. It may easily instil gambling properties on vulnerable or young fans. However these Lootboxes do not stop at EA or Battlefront II. Activision, Blizzard, EA Sports and various other publishers are guilty of the Lootboxes which must be investigated to ensure the safety and well-being of players in the UK. Multiple sovereign countries have already interjected on this issue and the UK Government needs to do the same.
