Create a ‘Residential Care Voucher’ scheme

Petition Details

As a parent to a young child, I can take advantage of the tax-efficient way to pay towards her childcare. I propose a similar scheme be set up so that people can save towards the often unmanageable costs surrounding residential care for elderly loved ones.

Additional Information

A scheme should exist where:
Employees can pay into a ‘pot’ that is dedicated to the residential / end-of-life care of loved ones.
Monies saved are protected by a government-backed scheme (similar to savings at the bank)
Savings to the employee are present through salary-sacrifice
Monies deposited are available should they become not necessary
People can chose to pay into their own account and/or an account for a relative/friend

The scheme should mirror the current childcare voucher scheme
