stop paying benefits to people in Polygamous marriages
Polygamous marriages are illegal under UK law and should not be recognised no matter the person's background. and they should not be funded by the British people
Polygamous marriages legally performed in another country where the law allows it is legally recognised for the purposes of welfare benefits, but not for pension, immigration or citizenship purposes. It is unofficially believed that there are up to 20,000 polygamous marriages in the Muslim community of the U.K.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not what specific action you'd like.
The 2010 Government decided that the Universal Credit rules would not recognise additional partners in polygamous relationships. We're not sure what more you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
