Petition Action

Sack Philip Hammond over disabled low productivity comments.

Petition Details

Asked about fall in productivity rates earlier this year, he said
“It is almost certainly the case that by increasing participation in the workforce, including far higher levels of participation by marginal groups and very high levels of engagement in the workforce, for example of disabled people"

Additional Information

Disabled people already have a difficult time accessing work as many employers are sceptical to employ disabled people due to mis guided information on access and peoples abilities.

Philip Hammond just told the country that disabled people are not productive and employing someone with a disability will lead to low productivity compared to that of a non-disabled person.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept petitions about appointments, which includes calling for MPs or Cabinet Ministers to be sacked.

If you're concerned about a particular policy or decision that's the responsibility of Government or Parliament, you could start a petition about that.
