Demand the resignation of the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union

Petition Details

Mr David Davis has made repeated statements concerning the existence of some 50-60 detailed reports on the impact of Brexit on different major sectors of the British economy. Under questioning from the Commons Select Committee he was forced to admit no such reports exist.

Additional Information

On December 14th 2016 he told the House of Commons Exiting the European Union Select Committee: “We are in the midst of carrying out about 57 sets of analyses, each of which has implications for individual parts of 85% of the economy". On the Andrew Marr show in June of this year he stated: “In my job I don’t think out loud and I don’t make guesses. You make (decisions) based on the data. That data is being gathered. We’ve got 50 - nearly 60 - sectoral analyses already done.” He lied.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The resignation of an MP and/or Minister would be an individual decision for that person, and not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole.
