A formal apology being made by Mr Hammond for his comments on disabled workers

Petition Details

Mr Hammond suggested that disabled people having jobs and the growing rate of disabled people in the workplace may have caused a productivity slump. This in my opinion is scapegoating on a vulnerable group and should be discussed within parliament.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure whether your petition is calling on Mr Hammond to apologise for his remarks, or whether you'd like a debate on Parliament about what he said.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
