Clearly label all meat products to say if the food contains Halal meat.
This isnt about race, this is about the consumer being able to choose if they consume meat based products that are produced containing either Halal or non halal products.
It seems that nowadays more and more meat based products and schools are using Halal products even if it unknowingly offends.
The production of Halal meat i feel is very cruel, i do beleive we need meat to survive, but why should we allow the suffering of animals just to please an ethnic group.
Halal meat shouldn't be banned, but we should all have the choice.
A few years ago the government and Defra assured me they were looking into optional labelling. This hasnt happened and it seems to be a standard reply to others who also have the same concerns.
I feel that the government needs to do more!
