Ban building of visitor attractions in the Lake District tighten planning policy
Tranquillity and beauty in the Lake District are irreplaceable and too precious to be further damaged by business pressures. The area unspoiled is the attraction. It appears that our lake district is being seen only as a profit opportunity. Damage must be halted. Apply The Sandford Principle.
National Parks were created to conserve the landscape and economy for local people. The Lakes District is already over used. Park management needs to be refocused on unobtrusive conservation and stabilising economic growth consistent with maintaining a thriving, stable permanent local population only. It used to be very difficult to build anything but now business expansion is obvious, with costly building conversions and pressure to build big visitor attractions damaging the landscape and tranquillity.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Planning permission for the Lake District is the responsibility of the Lake District National Park Authority. You can find out how to contact them here:
http://www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/aboutus/contact_us
You could raise your issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:

If you want the UK Government or Parliament to take action, for example to change the legislation and policy framework which governs planning and development decisions taken by local authorities or all national parks, you could start a new petition specifically asking for that action.
