Spare room tax rather than "Bedroom tax". You have a spare room you pay for it!
I am proposing that anybody with spare rooms whether they own the property or not should pay a tax for the room they are not using. In this day and age housing is a massive concern and why should the poor who are actually using their bedrooms have to pay poor tax. I propose changing this for good.
If your sick of paying tax for a room you are entitled to then sign this petition. Why should the poorer in society pay for a room that is being used when others buy houses with multiple spare rooms that they will never use. These rooms could house people and just because they own their property doesn't mean they shouldn't have to pay a tax. Otherwise why should someone on such a low income have to pay for a room that they need just because the person staying in the room is above a set age.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. People who are considered to be "under-occupying" their social rented housing (eg. because they have a spare room) have their Housing Benefit reduced. This is often known as the "bedroom tax". We're not sure how you would like this to apply to people who aren't receiving Housing Benefit.
You can find out more about this policy here:

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
