Lift Tyler, the Creator UK Ban
In 2015 Tyler, the Creator - rapper and member of hip-hop collective, Odd Future - was turned away from UK borders in regards to lyrics in which the foreign secretary of the time, Theresa May, deemed 'offensive'.
In a letter written to the artist, she stated: "...because you have brought yourself within the scope of the list of unacceptable behaviour by making statements that may foster hatred, which might lead to intercommunity violence in the UK.”
It was also suggested that Tyler's artistic expression breached the guidelines of British values, which is a ludicrous suggestion as the only British values being broken in this case are the right to freedom of speech.
