Halal Slaughter is cruel to animals and has no place in Britain.

Additional Information

Ritual Halal Slaughter involves an animal being killed by having its throat cut across while still alive and fully conscious. This is cruel to the animal, and is unacceptable in a humane society.

There is no reason why this needs to take place to satisfy a minority religion, as stunning is permitted under Islamic law.

The government should bring forward legislation banning ANY method of slaughter that does not involve some form of stunning before slaughter.
